Coming-of-age ceremoy

In this year I had coming-of-age ceremony. My hometown is not city so we had it before a day the city's. It was very fun and I could make wonderful memories with my old friends. I was very happy to be able to see you again after a long time. And they did not change. We were talked in the days of the when elementary school and junior high school era.

 My best friend is like my family. We are together since we were 2 years old. And we are same kindergarten same elementary school same junior high school same high school. This is very funny but that is we are. Of course we were went to there together. Our wearing Kimono was similar. We wore white Kimono it is very beautiful pattern. 

I think girl is the preparations for coming-of-age ceremony are very busy. Because girls has to wear Kimono. This is very hard work we can't breath. Maybe boys are doesn't know it. And girls are has to make up clear face and hair. And we are girls has a before taking photo in Japanese "Maedori" so we are wear Kimono 2 times. We are very busy but I think this is very good experience because we are Japanese but we don't wear it in usual so we can feel real Japanese. I think Japanese who man and woman should wear Kimono more because Kimono is a Japanese traditional clothes. 

And after class reunion. I t was very fun because I could met teachers in those days. That was very nostalgic. We met after a long time so we talked a lot. I was often fight with their but it is good memory to me now. Then we were opened time capsule. It was make when we were elementary school student. I rapped letter for me and for friends and for mom and dad. It was funny and little bit ashamed but was happy. I can say now but I did not remember about it.

Essay 2: My treasure

This time I will talk about my treasure. My treasure is Peace. Peace is my dog and he is part of my families.

Let me tell you about him. He is 8 years old now and he is very wise, for example if I touch or hit someone he will become angry and bite me. He is really a peaceful dog. I’m proud of his behavior. When he was coming to my home he was baby and I decided on his name on that day. I wanted to be him grow up as a like peaceful dog so I named Peace. He is very kind to me and he is always by my side. When I was tired or crying he always was coming and wagging his tail and licking my face. I think maybe he says to me like this, hey Erica what’s happened? Please don’t cry. He encourages me every time.

2 days ago we went to dog run at Aso. This place is very wide. He likes to run while using his favorite toy. When I am in our home and have much time I play with him in the garden. When I throw a ball, he runs to take it on the run. He looks like cheetah. I like to see that.  Sometimes we take a bath together but he doesn't like baths because water is a scary thing for him so he shakes all the time and he held on to my body while take a bath. It is very cute.

I said before he is 8 years old now which is about 60 years old in human years. He is an old man. Recently he often stumbles. I’m very worried about his health. I’d like him to keep being healthy because he is an important part of my family and we are together forever.

Essay 1: letter to host family

Hi I'm Erica. I'm 19 now. I will introduce myself and my family. First, my family is 4 people and 1 dog. My dad is 48 and he likes cars and trips to other countries. My mom is 48 too. She is a housewife and doesn't work and she likes to play tennis.  My brother is 22, he goes to college in Ehime at Ehime University He studying math. He likes to play soccer and now he belongs to the futsal circle. My dog is 7, his name is Peace. He is really wise but always sleeping. He is also one of the important members of our family.

As for me, I go to college in Kumamoto at KGU where  I am studying English. I like English so I listen to English songs every day and watch American TV. This time I'm so happy and excited, because I've thought I want to go study abroad and do a home stay.

My hobbies are shopping and cooking. I like to buy clothes or accessories. I always buy too much. And I like to eat and cook so I work in a restaurant. There are many Japanese traditional dishes. It’s very nice and  someday I want to invite your family to come there. Do you often make any special? I'm looking forward to your dishes? And do you have a favorite Japanese food or thing item?

And what does your family do in the holidays? I want to do something exciting or go to many places. And tell me about your family rules and what I need to be careful about in your country.
